Time to Normalize Pedophilia: Firsthand Report on B4U-ACT Conference

August 23, 2011

Press Release Contact: jmattbarber@comcast.net
DATE: August 22, 2011

Lynchburg, VA – On Wednesday, August 17, child advocates Matt Barber, Vice President of Liberty Counsel Action, and Dr. Judith Reisman, a visiting law professor at Liberty University School of Law, attended a Baltimore, MD conference hosted by the pedophile group B4U-ACT.

Around 50 individuals were in attendance including a number of admitted pedophiles-–or “Minor-Attracted Persons” as they prefer to be identified (MAP “sexual orientation”)-–as well as several supportive mental health professionals.

World renowned “sexologist,” Dr. Fred Berlin of Johns Hopkins University gave the keynote address, saying: “I want to completely support the goal of B4U-ACT.”

Highlights of the conference:

  • Pedophiles are “unfairly stigmatized and demonized” by society.
  • There was concern about “vice-laden diagnostic criteria” and “cultural baggage of wrongfulness.”
  • “We are not required to interfere with or inhibit our child’s sexuality.”
  • “Children are not inherently unable to consent” to sex with an adult.
  • “In Western culture sex is taken too seriously.”
  • “Anglo-American standard on age of consent is new [and ‘Puritanical’]. In Europe it was always set at 10 or 12. Ages of consent beyond that are relatively new and very strange, especially for boys. They’ve always been able to have sex at any age.”
  • An adult’s desire to have sex with children is “normative.”
  • Our society should “maximize individual liberty. … We have a highly moralistic society that is not consistent with liberty.”
  • “Assuming children are unable to consent lends itself to criminalization and stigmatization.”
  • “These things are not black and white; there are various shades of gray.”
  • A consensus belief by both speakers and pedophiles in attendance was that, because it vilifies MAPs, pedophilia should be removed as a mental disorder from the American Psychiatric Association’s (APA) Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), in the same manner homosexuality was removed in 1973.
  • Dr. Fred Berlin acknowledged that it was political activism, similar to that witnessed at the conference, rather than scientific considerations that successfully led to the declassification of homosexuality as a mental disorder: The reason “homosexuality was taken out of DSM is that people didn’t want the government in the bedroom,” he said.
  • Dr. Berlin appeared to endorse the politically maligned clinical practice of “reparative therapy” for homosexuals and pedophiles alike, saying, “If someone, for their own reasons, doesn’t want to live a homosexual lifestyle, I tell them that it’s hard but I’ll try to help them.”
  • The DSM ignores that pedophiles “have feelings of love and romance for children” in the same way adult heterosexuals and homosexuals have romantic feelings for one another.
  • “The majority of pedophiles are gentle and rational.”
  • The DSM should “focus on the needs” of the pedophile, and should have “a minimal focus on social control,” rather than obsessing about the “need to protect children.”
  • Self-descried “gay activist” and speaker Jacob Breslow said that children can properly be “the object of our attraction.” He further objectified children, suggesting that pedophiles needn’t gain consent from a child to have sex with “it” any more than we need consent from a shoe to wear it. He then used graphic, slang language to favorably describe the act of climaxing (ejaculating) “on or with” a child. No one in attendance objected to this explicit depiction of child sexual assault.

  1. S&P Vendetta and Pedophile Normalization

Posted by Ann Barnhardt – August 18, AD 2011 11:29 AM MST

2.) I tweeted an article earlier this week on the American Psychiatric Association moving to normalize pedophilia in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). Guys, this isn’t some fringe outfit. The APA and the DSM is THE benchmark psychiatric text used in legal proceedings and the drafting and contesting of legislation. The APA normalized homosexuality in 1973, and instantaneously our societal and civilizational collapse commenced. But, I think everyone is missing a key point and motivation in all of this pedophilia stuff. Sure, pedophiles like Obama’s “Safe-Schools Czar” Kevin Jennings want to be able to rape boys with legal protection.

(Google these terms: “Kevin Jennings Fistgate” and read up on how this guy organized pedophilia seminars for elementary school students teaching them how to cruise public restrooms and engage in the horrific evil of “fisting”. BigGovernment.com exposed all of this in 2009 and NOTHING was ever said anywhere in the media, including Fox News. That was all the proof I needed that Fox News was in the tank just as much as all of the other outfits. Obama literally appointed a known pedophile to be “Safe-Schools Czar” and no one said a damn word.)

What this pedophilia legalization really has to do with is SHARIA LAW. In islam, men are allowed to have sex with children and infants. It is fully legally sanctioned not only by imams issuing doctrinal fatwas, but also by the hadiths and the koran itself. Pedophilia is intrinsic to islam. There are multiple citations in the koran ratifying and glorifying sex with children of both sexes. I covered those in my koran-burning YouTube video. The reason the APA is moving to “normalize” pedophilia, or as they call it, “attraction to minors”, is so that the deck will be cleared for muslims and Sharia, and there will be no way to prosecute muslims for child rape.

Hillary Clinton is pushing the U.N. law that would make “defamation of religion” a crime. Of course by “religion” they are referring to islam and islam alone – even though islam is NOT a religion. But that mis-categorization is all part of the plan. Arresting and trying muslims for child rape would be in conflict with this U.N. muslim-supremacy act, thus pedophilia must be legalized and sanctioned in the U.S. statutes and in stare decisis (legal precedent). The fact of the matter is this: if my government legally sanctions pedophilia, then that government is not only dead to me, but it is my enemy. That is the ONLY moral response to such an act of evil. Get your heads around this, people. There is no way a moral human being can rationalize or justify allegiance to a government that sanctions the rape of children and infants. Lock and load.

  2. Education School Reading List Featured Books on Lesbian Sex, Gay Orgy

    Posted on August 23, 2011

Most of us can remember many of the books on the assigned reading list in middle and high school — from Charles Dickens’ “Great Expectations” to Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s “Crime and Punishment.” Today, however, required reading for students apparently includes “Tweak: Growing up on Methamphetamines,” a book that features a scene depicting a homosexual orgy and “Norwegian Wood,” a book that features a sex scene between a 31-year-old woman and a 13-year old girl.

That’s right. Books on gay orgies and lesbian sex as required reading for students.

Fox Nation reports that a New Jersey school district has apologized to parents after requiring high school students to read the graphic books.

“Some of the language is inappropriate,” said Chuck Earling, superintendent of Monroe Township Schools in Williamstown, NJ. “We were not trying to create controversy. We were just trying to get students to read.”

Even more disturbing, is that the books reportedly on the required reading list were not just for high school students, but for middle school students as well.

“There were some words and language that seemed to be inappropriate as far as the parents and some of the kids were concerned,” he said.

    Fox adds:

One book, “Norwegian Wood,” was on a list for incoming sophomores in an honors English class. The book included a graphic depiction of a lesbian sex scene between a 31-year-old woman and a 13-year old girl, according to a report first published in the Gloucester County Times.

“I don’t think that’s relevant for any teenager,” parent Robin Myers told the newspaper. Her daughter was assigned to read the book.

“I was just kind of in shock,” she said.

The other book in question was “Tweak: Growing up on Methamphetamines.” That book included depictions of drug usage and a homosexual orgy.

“That has created a controversy,” Earling told Fox News Radio, referring to the drug usage – along with the lesbian and gay sex scenes. “We’ve pulled them from our summer reading list.”

In a misguided effort to keep ahead of the curve, school districts are substituting classic literature — that has served to educate millions of students for decades — with graphic books that are perhaps only intended to push a social and political agenda on the students who read them.

    What say you?

  3. Conference aims to normalize pedophilia

If a small group of psychiatrists and other mental health professionals have their way at a conference this week, pedophiles themselves could play a role in removing pedophilia from the American Psychiatric Association’s bible of mental illnesses — the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), set to undergo a significant revision by 2013. Critics warn that their success could lead to the decriminalization of pedophilia.

The August 17 Baltimore conference is sponsored by B4U-ACT, a group of pro-pedophile mental health professionals and sympathetic activists. According to the conference brochure, the event will examine “ways in which minor-attracted persons [pedophiles] can be involved in the DSM 5 revision process” and how the popular perceptions of pedophiles can be reframed to encourage tolerance.

Researchers from Harvard University, the Johns Hopkins University, the University of Louisville, and the University of Illinois will be among the panelists at the conference.

B4U-ACT has been active attacking the APA’s definition of pedophilia in the run up to the conference, denouncing its description of “minor-attracted persons” as “inaccurate” and “misleading” because the current DSM links pedophilia with criminality.

“It is based on data from prison studies, which completely ignore the existence of those who are law-abiding,” said Howard Kline, science director of B4U-ACT, in a July 25, 2011 press release. “The proposed new diagnostic criteria specify ages and frequencies with no scientific basis whatsoever.”

The press release announced a letter the group sent to the APA criticizing its approach, and inviting its leaders to participate in the August 17 conference. “The DSM should meet a higher standard than that,” Kline continued. “We can help them, because we are the people they are writing about.”

APA spokeswoman Erin Connors told The Daily Caller in an emailed statement that her organization was not participating in the conference and would not comment on its aims.

Child advocate Dr. Judith Reisman, a visiting professor at Liberty University’s School of Law, said the conference is part of a strategy to condition people into accepting pedophiles.

“The first thing they do is to get the public to divest from thinking of what the offender does criminally, to thinking of the offender’s emotional state, to think of him as thinking of his emotional state, [and] to empathize and sympathize,” Reisman said. “You don’t change the nation in one fell swoop; you have to change it by conditioning. The aim is to get them [pedophiles] out of prison.”

According to Reisman, empirical data show that pedophiles typically molest many children before finally being caught.

“The data on paroled pedophiles confirms these predators repeat their crimes against children and are known to have escalated them even to murder,” Reisman said.

Several speakers at the August 17 conference, including B4U-ACT director of operations Dr. Richard Kramer and conference keynote speaker Dr. Fred Berlin, of the Johns Hopkins University, have actively opposed sex offender notification laws.

“What purpose does calling someone a ‘pervert’ or ‘predator’ serve anyway, other than to express contempt and hatred?” Kramer wrote in a March 14, 2009 blog entry on the website ReformSexOffenderLaws.org. “How is this productive? It certainly doesn’t protect children. I would urge all SO [sex offender] activists to listen to their own message: Stop buying into and promoting false stereotypes. Stop demonizing a whole class of people, and start learning the facts.”

  4. Important Statement on B4U-ACT’s August 17 Symposium in Baltimore

Before you act, know the facts and consider the consequences.

If you’re a mental health professional:
You may be disturbed by the lack of mental health care accessible to people who are emotionally and sexually attracted to minors, or by the unavailability of accurate information about such clients and how to work with them. We help mental health professionals learn more about attraction to minors and to consider the effects of stereotyping, stigma, and fear. That way they can be informed before they work with clients who are attracted to minors, and before they talk about or make public statements about minor-attracted people.

    If you’re a minor-attracted person:
You may be looking for mental health services to deal with anxiety, depression, anger, or other factors either unrelated to your sexuality or resulting from society’s stereotypes and reactions to your sexual feelings. Or you may be wondering how to live life fully and stay within the law. But you may feel you can’t trust therapists because they don’t understand you, they’ll judge you, or they’ll report your feelings to others. We help minor-attracted people find mental health professionals that they can trust. That way they can develop ways of coping and consider how their actions affect themselves and others before they react to their situation or to society’s attitudes about them.

B4U-ACT is a unique collaborative effort between minor-attracted people and mental health professionals to promote communication and understanding between the two groups. Our goal is unique and unprecedented: to make effective and compassionate mental health care available to individuals who self-identify as minor-attracted and who are seeking assistance in dealing with issues in their lives that are challenging to them. We want to give them hope for productive and fulfilling lives, rather than waiting for a crisis to occur.

  8. Who Is Richard Kramer? Director of ‘Mental Health Professionals’ Group Admits His Own Attraction to Minors

    Posted on | August 20, 2011 | 20 Comments and 15 Reactions

Controversy has erupted over a Baltimore conference this week organized by B4UAct.org, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization described by the Daily Caller as “a group of pro-pedophile mental health professionals and sympathetic activists.” The Aug. 17 conference was aimed at de-stigmatizing pedophila and especially at removing pedophilia from the list of mental disorders in the American Psychiatric Association’s diagnostic manual.

There might have been even more controversy about the conference if it had been known that the operations director of B4UAct.org, Richard Kramer, is apparently not a “mental health professional,” but is in fact a self-confessed pedophile — or to employ his organization’s preferred terminology, a ”minor-attracted person.”

In a 2009 letter in the “Uncommon Sense” online newsletter, published by the pedophile-oriented site Newgon.com, Kramer wrote that “things were much better for BLs and GLs 35 years ago” — using abbreviations for “Boy Lover” and “Girl Lover,” terms popularized by online pedophile forums. In his “Uncommon Sense” letter, Kramer repeatedly used the first-person pronouns “we” and “our” in speaking of such people:

In the 1970s, professionals, politicans, and the media did not unanimously condemn BLs as animalistic “predators,” or lie to the public that we were supremely devious, violent, uncontrollable, unloving and unloveable, or that everything we did was for the purpose of satisfying our twisted lusts, or that any contact we had with children or teenagers destroyed their souls. We were not subject to ideological “cognitive restructuring” treatment (i.e., brainwashing), lifetime civil commitment (i.e., concentration camps), or possible execution. Thirty-five years ago BLs actually had large, real-life meetings and produced print publications. We even had some allies in the gay community and in radical churches. Now we are not even seen as human, and we have no allies to speak of.
The fundamental issue we need to address is the defense of our humanity. We need to confront the stigmatization, demonization, and stereotyping that exists due simply to our attraction to children or adolescents, regardless of our behavior. To do this, we need to be honest about our sexuality.
    [Emphasis added.]

Kramer made the closing presentation at the Baltimore conference, according to a program of the event, speaking on the topic, “The DSM and the Stigmatization of People who Are Attracted to Minors.” The online program links Kramer to the Web site MHAMIC.org, the “Male Homosexual Attraction to Minors Information Center,” which he evidently established in 2003. A contact page at the MHAMIC site lists Kramer as a Ph.D., but does not state his area of expertise or his academic affiliation. In none of his online writing for B4UACT or MHAMIC does Kramer claim to be a mental health professional.

Despite this, none of the journalists covering the Baltimore conference — including Tracy Clark-Flory of Salon.com – mentioned Kramer’s distinctly personal interest in the subject under discussion. Readers may have mistakenly believed he was among the disinterested “mental health professionals” whose involvement in the conference was of a professional or scientific nature.

B4U-ACT Holds Scientific Symposium on Pedophilia and the DSM

Today in Baltimore, Maryland, B4U-ACT brought together a range of clinicians, researchers, academics, and minor-attracted persons to discuss key issues regarding the entry for pedophilia in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) of the American Psychiatric Association. The purpose of the meeting was to promote a more comprehensive and accurate DSM. This first symposium of its kind was a success, as 38 people participated in discussion of stimulating presentations by nine distinguished speakers.

The foundation of the symposium was B4U-ACT’s position that the DSM should be based on accurate information about people in the general population. It should be “sensitive to the needs of clinicians and their patients” (as advocated by the APA). Minor-attracted people should be involved in its revision (also advocated by the APA).

B4U-ACT believes that everyone benefits when a variety of reasoned perspectives is heard. Therefore, speakers were allowed to express their views freely and openly. B4U-ACT does not necessarily endorse all of the views expressed. Our policy of free and open expression is in support of the APA’s position that DSM revisions should involve input from “diverse perspectives, disciplines, and areas of expertise,” and that “patient and family” groups be involved. Speakers and attendees specialized in psychiatry, ethics, psychology, philosophy, social work, linguistics, and gender studies.

This kind of scholarly interaction is necessary in light of the numerous unresolved issues raised about the proposed DSM revisions by scholars, researchers, and minor-attracted people. Controversy has arisen over scientific issues, conceptual issues, the purpose of the DSM (to promote mental health vs. social control), and consequences of the DSM entry for society and the people being diagnosed. Information about these controversies can be found at:

    http://www.b4uact.org/science/symp/2011/refs.htm#crit and

Speakers addressed a diverse range of crucial issues related to the DSM, and discussion was lively. Keynote speaker Dr. Fred Berlin (of Johns Hopkins University) provided a conceptual overview of pedophilia from a psychiatric viewpoint, and argued in favor of acceptance of and compassion for people who are attracted to minors, while at the same time rejecting adult-minor sexual activity. Dr. John Sadler (University of Texas) argued that diagnostic criteria for mental disorders should not be based on concepts of vice since such concepts are subject to shifting social attitudes and doing so diverts mental-health professionals from their role as healers. Dr. Nancy Potter (University of Louisville) analyzed the concept of “uptake” — that is, genuine listening — and argued that by giving uptake to minor-attracted people, those revising the DSM would strengthen DSM-5 and contribute to more ethical treatment, but that minor-attracted people must exhibit accuracy and sincerity in their testimony. Dr. Lisa Cohen (Albert Einstein College of Medicine) presented data on the psychological correlates of pedophilia based on forensic samples, and argued that use of non-forensic samples would help researchers separate factors related to feelings of attraction from those related to behavior, and support the development of improved diagnostic systems.

In the afternoon, Dr. Renee Sorrentino (Harvard Medical School) discussed legal, ethical, and medical consequences of the proposed DSM-5 entry for pedohebephilia. Andrew Hinderliter (University of Illinois) argued that the medicalization of social deviance blurs the boundary between the helping professions and the criminal justice system, creating the potential for psychiatry to become a means of controlling undesirables, rather than an agent of healing. Jacob Breslow (London School of Economics and Political Science) challenged assumptions about minors and sexuality which currently underlie policymaking and the DSM. Richard Kramer (the only speaker representing B4U-ACT), analyzed sources of stigma in the DSM, presented survey data regarding MAPs’ feelings of stigma, and provided recommendations for revising the DSM to reduce stigma.

B4U-ACT is a 501(c)(3) organization that promotes communication and collaboration among minor-attracted persons, mental health professionals, and researchers. Its mission is to increase the availability of accurate information about minor-attracted persons and mental health services that focus on their mental health needs. Inaccurate negative stereotypes force minor-attracted people into hiding, leave young adolescents who are attracted to children hopeless with nowhere to turn, and do nothing to protect children. We have received emails from teenagers as young as 15 who were engaged in self-harming behavior or threatening suicide, and could talk to no one about it, because they were attracted to children. Making welcoming, informed, and empathetic mental health services available is the goal of B4U-ACT.

For more details about the symposium, see http://www.b4uact.org/science/symp/2011/. Please direct any questions to B4U-ACT director of operations Richard Kramer at rkramer@b4uact.org.
