GE Dumps Offshore Wind-Power Plans AFTER Collecting $125 Million In Stimulus From Taxpayers For Wind Projects

Source – Gateway Pundit

GE was awarded 44 contracts totaling over $46,000,000 and 44 grants totaling more than$79,000,000 from the Obama-Pelosi $757 billion dollar stimulus package. Millions of dollars in stimulus funds were used by GE in green energy projects.

Today GE announced that it was going to gut its offshore wind-power plans.

Forbes reported:

General Electric, the U.S.-based industrial giant and leading manufacturer of wind-power turbines, is scaling back efforts to expand its presence in the offshore wind power market.

Planet Earth for Earth Day

The global warming theory left him out in the cold.

Dr. Ivar Giaever, a former professor with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the 1973 winner of the Nobel Prize in physics, abruptly announced his resignation Tuesday, Sept. 13, from the premier physics society in disgust over its officially stated policy that “global warming is occurring.”

The official position of the American Physical Society (APS) supports the theory that man’s actions have inexorably led to the warming of the planet, through increased emissions of carbon dioxide.

Giaever does not agree — and put it bluntly and succinctly in the subject line of his email, reprinted at Climate Depot, a website devoted to debunking the theory of man-made climate change.

“I resign from APS,” Giaever wrote.

And the list keeps growing, when last we left the official Moonbat list of dumb things global warming causes it contained  Incredible shrinking sheep, Invasion of jellyfish in the Mediterranean, Surge in fatal shark attack, Boy Scout tornado deaths, Severe acne, Global conflictBeer tasting different, Suicide of farmers in Australia, Bigger tuna fish,Longer days, Shorter daysCollapse of gingerbread houses in Sweden, Cow infertility, UFO sightings in the UK, Rise in insurance premiums, and Heroin addiction and a rise in bear attacks in Japan and Frigid Cold Winters in Great Britain, just to name a few. The only thing they haven’t blamed on global warming so far are Keith Olbermann and the Democratic party’s rejection of  Obama’s tax compromise and of course Oprah’s exit from broadcast TV. Now its time to add another one to the list!

The latest? The UN says Climate change could give you cancer. Yep now global warming gets put into the same category as Cigarettes, DDT and of course being a lab rat and consuming two tons of the sweetener cyclamate in one sitting.

This is how they say their latest scam works:

My Stories Melting glaciers and ice sheets are releasing cancer-causing pollutants into the air and oceans, scientists say. The long-lasting chemicals get into the food chain and build up in people’s bodies – triggering tumours, heart disease and infertility.

The study – due to be published next month – says rising temperatures and more extreme weather are increasing human exposure to pollutants around the world, including in Britain.

‘It is a problem in all parts of the world – pollutants do not respect borders. They travel thousands of miles and they continue to build’ Scientists are concerned about Persistent Organic Pollutants, or POPs, because they last decades in the environment and accumulate in body tissue.

POPs? Does than mean  we cant have soda pop?

They include pesticides such as DDT and chemicals called PCBs used in electrical goods.

Donald Cooper, of the United Nations Environment Programme which published the report at the UN climate talks in Cancun, Mexico, said melting glaciers and ice sheets were releasing POPs trapped years ago into the air and seas.

….’In the past pollutants have travelled long distances and become trapped in ice in glaciers and ice sheets. But as the ice melts, or when temperatures go up, they are released back into the seas and atmosphere.

….Higher temperatures can also make seals, whales and polar bars more vulnerable to pollutants, the report says.

I knew it!! I knew they would find a way to merge it with “Save the Whales.”

Here is the problem glaciers are growing, that’s right getting bigger. At this site is a list of referenced/ and hot-lined articles talking about the growth of glaciers. There are also pages that show the Antarctic Ice is growing  and the latest reports from the ice stations in Greenland show that everything was pretty cool (pun intended).

Sorry moonbats it looks like a case of  , “Glaciers Si’, Cancer No”

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore said support for corn-based ethanol in the United States was ‘not a good policy’, weeks before tax credits are up for renewal.

U.S. blending tax breaks for ethanol make it profitable for refiners to use the fuel even when it is more expensive than gasoline. The credits are up for renewal on December 31.

Total U.S. ethanol subsidies reached $7.7billion last year according to the International Energy Industry, which said biofuels worldwide received more subsidies than any other form of renewable energy.

‘It is not a good policy to have these massive subsidies for (U.S.) first generation ethanol,’ said Mr Gore, speaking at a green energy business conference in Athens sponsored by Marfin Popular Bank.

‘First generation ethanol I think was a mistake. The energy conversion ratios are at best very small.
