Obama’s Billion-Dollar Campaign? ‘That’s Bullsh**’

In an end-of-year fundraising video, Obama campaign manager Jim Messina appeals for grassroots cash, describing as  ”bullsh**” the speculation that theirs is a billion-dollar campaign.

“People have speculated that this is a billion-dollar campaign. That’s bullsh**,” he says. “We don’t take PAC money, unlike our opponents. We fund this campaign in contributions of $3 or $5 or whatever you can do to help us expand the map, to put more people on the ground, to build a real grassroots campaign that is going to be the difference between winning and losing.”

Watch the video HERE.

The Obama campaign has never explicitly thrown out the billion-dollar figure and aides have pushed back hard on media reports that they anticipate raising that much during the campaign.

Obama Needs One Billion Dollars For 2012 Campaign

Democratic Super PAC raises individual, union, corporate and Super PAC contributions

By Bill AllisonJun 23, 2011 6:05 p.m.

  1. The House Majority PAC, one of the two Democratic Super PACs currently seeking permission from the Federal Election Commission to have federal candidates and party officials solicit funds for them, has disclosed its first batch of donors in the 2012 election cycle. Among the big givers are stalwart Democratic donors, including unions like the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees ($200,000) and the Communications Workers of America ($50,000), individuals like Fred Eychaner ($100,000) and George Soros ($75,000), trial law firm Kazan McClain Lyons Greenwood & Harley ($10,000), tech company Integrated Archive Systems ($25,000) and America’s Families First Action Fund ($50,000), which is itself a Super PAC.Read all about it

Law firm Perkins Coie represents both groups; Robert Bauer, an attorney at the firm and former White House Chief Counsel, represents the Democratic National Committee and President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign.

Obama returns to Chicago Jan. 11 for fund-raisers

By Lynn Sweet on December 29, 2011 12:00 PM | No Comments

WASHINGTON–President Barack Obama returns home to Chicago on Jan. 11 for high end fund-raisers to bankroll his re-election drive, as he jumps back on the traveling fund-raising circuit after taking a break for a few weeks over the holidays. This will mark Obama’s tenth visit back to Chicago since becoming president.

Obama will be hosted at the North Side home of media mogul Fred Eychaner, who is also one of the biggest donors to third-party Democratic “SuperPacs,” playing a role in the 2012 campaign.

Big Government

From the New York Times:

Despite a pledge not to take money from lobbyists, President Obama has relied on prominent supporters who are active in the lobbying industry to raise millions of dollars for his re-election bid.At least 15 of Mr. Obama’s “bundlers” — supporters who contribute their own money to his campaign and solicit it from others — are involved in lobbying for Washington consulting shops or private companies. They have raised more than $5 million so far for the campaign.

Because the bundlers are not registered as lobbyists with the Senate, the Obama campaign has managed to avoid running afoul of its self-imposed ban on taking money from lobbyists.

In the last few weeks, leading Democrats in Congress have called Tea Party constituents terrorists, said they should go to hell and accused them of wanting to lynch black people. Last weekend, at an event attended by President Obama, the head of the Teamsters Union, Jimmy Hoffa Jr., attacked the Tea Party, screaming, “President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these son of bitches (Tea Party members) out and give America back to an America where we belong.” (Note: the president was not on the platform when Hoffa spoke.)

It’s clear that Obama is floundering.  And liberals are fighting mad.  But help is on the way.  Obama has a secret weapon and it’s being unleashed on the American public with increasing frequency, ferocity, and vulgarity.

Carefully implied calls for lawlessness and threats of violence are raining in from Obama’s radical leftist buddies.  Whether it’s the Congressional Black Caucus, Big Labor, or the increasingly incoherent Rev. Jesse Jackson, the anger is palpable and the rage is rising.  Liberals who plaintively pressed for “civil discourse” when Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D) was shot by a left-wing lunatic have been largely silent.  While California Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters screams that the “TEA Party can go straight to hell,” mainstream media outlets say little.  Waters theorized that banks might behave differently if they were surrounded by angry citizens demanding their money — in effect, advocating a run on banks.  She later threatened to tax banks out of business if they did not provide loan modifications to keep people in their homes.  Mainstream media reports?  Just listen for the crickets.
